SommelierX Wine Pairing brings intelligent food pairing suggestions directly to your WooCommerce product pages. Powered by SommelierX’s proprietary Wine DNA matching algorithm, the widget helps your customers discover the perfect dish for every bottle — increasing engagement, time on page, and conversions.
External services disclosure
This plugin relies on the SommelierX widget service to display wine pairings:
- The plugin loads a JavaScript file from
https://sommelierx.com/widget/v1.json product pages where the widget is active. - The widget sends the wine product information (name, ID, and your SommelierX API key) to
https://api.sommelierx.comto fetch food pairing recommendations. - No customer personal data is sent — only anonymous product and widget usage information.

Two widget modes:
- Product mode — Displays food pairing suggestions on individual wine product pages. Customers see which dishes pair best with the wine they are viewing.
- Search mode — Adds a search bar where visitors type a dish and receive wine recommendations from your catalog.

Requirements:
- A SommelierX Retailer account and API key. Sign up at sommelierx.com/retailers.

- Download the plugin ZIP file.
- In your WordPress admin, go to Plugins > Add New > Upload Plugin.
- Upload the ZIP file and click Install Now.
- Activate the plugin.
- Go to WooCommerce > SommelierX in the admin menu.
- Enter your API key (from the SommelierX Retailer Dashboard).
- Choose your preferred mode, theme, language, and accent color.
- Click Save Settings. The widget will now appear on your product pages.

Where do I get an API key?

Sign up for a retailer account at sommelierx.com/retailers. Your API key will be available in the Retailer Dashboard under Widget Settings.

Does this plugin slow down my site?

No. The widget script loads asynchronously with the
deferattribute, so it does not block page rendering. The script is hosted on SommelierX’s CDN for fast global delivery. -
Can I customize the widget appearance?

Yes. You can choose between a light and dark theme, set a custom accent color to match your brand, and optionally add a CSS class for further styling.

Does it work with variable products?

Yes. The widget works on all WooCommerce product types, including simple, variable, and grouped products.
