I rarely install plugins on my client’s websites but I do have a couple of “utility” plugins to make my life easier with development. This is one of them.
Have been using this plugin for years now and it is a great solution for any site that needs a colorbox effect.

Very good and one of the fews with support for NextGen pictures.

– The container is not resized if the browser windows is resized so not usable for a responsible layout
– images are always grouped, there is no option to disable grouping
The good thing: text is localized.

Free plugin that works well. Has all the important options so that you can configure the lightbox how you want. Also, does not unnecessarily bloat your WordPress site. And there are no instrusive messages trying to sell you stuff (at least not in the first while after installation).
I rarely give reviews, but this is the best free Lightbox plugin I have come across!

This could be a good plugin, perhaps not great, but good. However, the problems on mobile and the unresponsiveness of the devs make it not worth the effort. Go elsewhere for your colorbox.
