A couple of child theme footers broke after the 2.2 Genesis update and I installed this as it wasn't clear why they had broken. All the footer widgets were floated left and stacked on top of each other in one column but I didn't have the time to investigate. Once I had chosen the required number of widgets using this plugin they spread out again across the footer and all was well.
